What will I study?

MBA students with an MIS concentration usually take core business courses at the start of school. These are shared with students who have other concentrations, and they include courses in ethics, finance, and other broad areas of business.

In their second half of studies, MBA MIS students start to study business intelligence in-depth. These online MBA programs teach about the information architecture of organizations, internet and intranet infrastructures, data modeling, and other topics in information management.

Where can I work?

Students with MIS concentrations are prime candidates for leadership positions in organizations. A sample career path would begin with managing an MIS group and being promoted to CIO or IT consultant. However, management positions are not necessarily limited to business intelligence positions. Since the MBA is a general business degree, graduates with a concentration in MIS or any other area can work in general management positions.
